Just Numbers

The work is socio-political in nature and reflects what the youth of today think about our country and what they believe should change. This is coupled with my view on what needs to be changed and what I believe are the core issues of societal injustices and imbalances. The animations are my commentary. I have created a story line with a call to action!

In this piece i have chosen to bring it closer to home. In South Africa many lesbian communities are targeted and subjected to corrective rape and discrimination.

I was inspired by an Italian street artist by the name of Blu, in his art work he uses the treatment of progression in his pieces, which creates movement within a still image. He is also known for doing his pieces on massive buildings.

During the making of this piece it tested my limitations as an artist, it was the first time I drew animation and then digitalised it to create movement, in process of making this video I have grown emotionally, technically and spiritually.
